Service of Ancestors

“The Dead are our nearest neighbors.”

John O’Donohue

This is the time of year that is believed to be a thin time, a liminal space, when the veil between this world and the next is most transparent. Cultural celebrations such as All Souls Day, All Saints Day, Dia de los Muertos, Samhain, and others all happen at the end of October or beginning of November. The Service of the Ancestors offers time when everyone is invited to share names of ancestors and loved ones they would like to honor.

There will be some changes to regular Sunday services to accommodate the Service of the Ancestors.  Instead of individual sharing, one universal candle of joy and concern will be lit.

Service will be both in person and on Zoom.

Potluck lunch to follow the service.  All are welcome.
