Operationalizing Grace: Fostering Unconditional Positive Self Regard

Grace is a loaded and profound theological concept, one that transcends religious boundaries, and leads to a general open stance towards your neighbor and to the world. It’s hard to argue that grace isn’t good! However, how does one make grace real in one’s own life? How do you move grace from a concept, to an embedded internal sense, and then to a mode of being towards others? My studies in Mindfulness in my first semester at Naropa University have led me to a new concept and way of operationalizing grace, that is fostering what is known as “unconditional positive self-regard.” We’ll explore this concept together this week and see what we can walk away with — just in time for the holidays when, perhaps, we could each use an extra dose of grace with ourselves and with others.

Service will be both in person and via Zoom.
