She Who Is: Exploring the Feminine Divine
If you look at the major religious traditions today purely from a leadership standpoint, as in – who is ordained or up front, or making the decisions for the institutional expression of the tradition – you would say that religion (in a binary worldview) is a male affair. However, within each of the ancient traditions lie expressions of the feminine divine, and those who identify as women have long found a place of empowerment and even voices of leadership by drawing on their own wisdom traditions. This final week of Women’s History month, we’ll listen to some of those diverse feminine theological expressions, and wonder at what they can teach us about ultimate reality and ourselves.
