Refill UP: The Upper Peninsula’s First Zero Waste Refillery
The business, Refill UP, is inspired by the problems caused by the overuse of plastic, the ineffectiveness of plastic recycling, and a desire to help our community switch to more sustainable products. The idea for the business started with a simple New Year’s resolution to be more sustainable in 2021, than we were in 2020. It was a somewhat vague ‘feel good’ goal. We wanted to find simple and efficient ways to reduce waste without creating unrealistic expectations for ourselves and breaking the bank. So Refill U.P. was born!
